Instead of boring you all with a typical reviewing introduction, and marinating this entire post in eloquent writing, i'm just going to get to the meat and potatoes of it all: what you want to hear about the game.
Graphics: For those of you that have played the demo, you pretty much know what to expect. 800x600 locked resolution can be a bummer to some of you i'm sure, though I honestly don't mind it at all. Character walking animation is still a bit stiff, but it seems to be improved oddly enough over the demo. Seeing Barcelona for the first time, however, is very beautiful. In a way, the world seems to resemble Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment. All things aside, it's very appealing to the eye, but hardly cutting edge.
Sound: Voice acting is superb, and there's an insane amount of spoken dialogue in the game. Very entertaining. Sound effects are simplistic, yet seem to fit well. The music is very good also. Absolute zero complaints here.
Gameplay: Alright, lets go ahead and bring up the first thing most of you want to know: how is combat compared to the demo? Much better. The fighting events are now sсripted, so it's not just enemies running up to you with the intent to drink your blood and slaughter your first born, minus the wolves, which are still pretty damned stupid. From what I played, there's much less combat than in the demo, but still a fair amount. It's not nearly as heavy-setted as it was in the demo, where that's all there was. Even the missions from the guard outside the gates of Barcelona are toned down, with not nearly as much creatures.
There is one place in the game that is very combat-oriented that i've found, however, and that's the map from the Bonus CD. If you're not really interested in an area where combat happens every five steps, I urge you not to go there. On top of it all, i'm slapped with some sort of weird loading screen, and I have to start the game over from an earlier save BEFORE I went in there. No big deal, but still.
Everything from the demo is the same as far as the UI goes, so don't expect anything new here. If you liked the UI, you'll feel right at home. If you didn't, then learn to love it, or don't play.
Story: For only three hours, I can say that i'm very impressed. The dialogue is very, very well done, and the story seems very intriguing. I look forward to progressing further into the game.
That's about it for now. Oh yeah, and archery is quite a bit easier than it was in the demo, though you still can't pick your targets with the game paused. Also, Gospel, there are no new hair selections. Sorry.
If anyone has any questions, i'll sit here for an hour and force myself not to play to answer you.
