Darth Caedus
Death
"At the end, there was a second when he just stopped fighting so he could warn Tenel Ka. I think he became Jacen again for a second before I...before I killed him."
―Jaina Solo[src]
Caedus was wounded by his sister Jaina in a duel on Nickel One resulting in the loss of his arm. Jaina later led a Jedi raid on the Anakin Solo. When she confronted him Caedus said that he had to warn Tenel Ka of a Nanovirus targeted at her and Allana. Jaina believed this to be a trap and they began their second and final duel. Caedus disengaged his lightsaber giving his life to warn Tenel Ka through the Force to protect Allana, their daughter. Jaina, still believeing it to be a trap, brought her lightsaber down on him. Afterwards she said that she felt Jacen, not Caedus, die through her twin bond and believed that he was himself for the last moments of his life.
Caedus's Sith apprentice, Tahiri Veila, engaged Ben Skywalker in a duel. Based on his dealings with Tahiri, Skywalker realized that it was still possible to bring Tahiri back to the light, and convinced her to leave the Sith Order and surrender to him.
Legacy
After his death, Jaina reflected that Jacen had been himself again during his final moments, and that he had succeeded in his goal: he had brought peace to the galaxy, sacrificing his name and life to do so.[4] Luke Skywalker would later chart a new course for the Jedi―many of whom had once looked to Jacen for inspiration―while trying to understand what had caused his nephew's fall.
Little did Jacen know that there were other Sith on Korriban, and while they disapproved of him being a Sith Lord, they regarded him as a Sith lightning rod to distract the Jedi away from them, thus giving them time to grow in numbers and power.[49] Alema Rar tried to warn him of this, but she was killed at the hands of Jagged Fel on The Home.[50]
Tenel-Ka

Death of Jacen
During the battle, her capital ship, Dragon Queen, was attacked with an Imperial nanovirus that targeted the blood of the Hapan Royal family. The blood had been taken by Prince Isolder during his captivity on the Anakin Solo shortly before Caedus killed him.
Just before the nanovirus was released, however, Tenel Ka felt Jacen—not Caedus—screaming at her in the Force to protect Allana, and she was able to escape with her daughter from the nanovirus. However, she realized the awful truth that Jacen had been killed in a lightsaber duel with his sister, Jaina Solo, and that the Hapan life was too dangerous for Allana. Tenel Ka proclaimed her daughter dead—killed by the nanovirus—and secretly requested that Han and Leia Solo raise her daughter at the Jedi academy. With that, Tenel Ka gave up her daughter, making a sacrifice rivaling that of her old lover, Jacen Solo, though, unlike Jacen, for the betterment of her daughter.
Tahiri Vela
Sith apprentice
Darth Caedus, Tahiri's Sith Master.
"You may call me Darth Caedus. I shall be known only by my true name from now on."
"Yes…my lord."
―Darth Caedus and Tahiri Veila[src]
Tahiri eventually lost her attachment to Anakin Solo and decided to willingly study under Caedus to learn how to become a Sith. She was surprised by Caedus to be his choice to meet with Gilad Pellaeon, the former Supreme Commander of the Galactic Alliance, and leader of the Imperial Remnant. When he didn't order his troops to join the war on the side of the Galactic Alliance, but against it, she killed Pellaeon, though she didn't relish having to kill him.[7]
On the Imperial ship Bloodfin, Tahiri took heavy injury in her thigh after both Jaina Solo and Mirta Gev ambushed her. While Jaina was overwhelming Tahiri with her lightsaber, Mirta managed to cut Tahiri's femoral artery. Tahiri only escaped death after Caedus's timely arrival to retrieve her.[7]
Later, she officially became the Sith apprentice of Darth Caedus. She later disobeyed her Master's orders and discovered that the Jedi had indeed used Endor as a base. The outcome of Caedus's reaction to this remains unknown.[7]

As Caedus's apprentice, Tahiri participated in an operation that culminated in the capture of Ben Skywalker and GAG captain Lon Shevu. She tortured and attempted to seduce Ben trying to discover the new location of the Jedi. Failing this she tortured Shevu with Ben as a witness. She accidentally killed Shevu with Force lightning. Ben then managed to knock her unconscious and escape GAG custody.
[edit]
Duel with Ben Skywalker
Tahiri later dueled Ben Skywalker, the son of Luke Skywalker. Skywalker convinced her to surrender to him, and she agreed to return to the Jedi Order. Meanwhile her Master, Darth Caedus, was killed by his sister Jaina Solo.[8]
