Hi Kren77,
attached is an update to the 4.60 drivers. It's a single file, and is
"installed" by copying it to two different places. The fix can be undone if
it should cause problems, and it will break the digital signature (making it
a pain to re-enumerate the wheel on a different port). However, if you have
a setup that is running now, you can just drop in the file and be done with
it.
0. preparation (for undoing the update): go to c:\program files\common
files\logitech\wmdrivers, rename "wmjoyfrc.dll" to be "wmjoyfrc.dll.bak" or
something like that. Note that the folder name ("program files..") may be
different on your system, depending on the Windows installation language).
If you ever want to go back to the original driver, rename
"wmjoyfrc.dll.bak" to "wmjoyfrc.dll" again.
1. unpack the attached updated wmjoyfrc.dll
2. copy the unpacked to c:\program files\common files\logitech\wmdrivers
*and* to c:\windows\system32
That's it. The next time you use force feedback, it will use the updated
code.
Notes on the changes
- fixed the "spike" force when "in turns" (actually, when a certain amount
of force is output)
- problem can still happen if you enable "use centering spring in
force-feedback games"
Hope this helps,
..tom
PS: this change is implemented and will be available whenever the next
release is published.
